Don't lose your job because you have lost your licence!

Have you accumulated too many demerit points on your licence? Will you lose your job if you don't have a drivers licence?

You can appeal against the cancellation of your licence due to the accumulation of demerit points but you must be able to prove the following:-

  • That losing your licence will deprive you of your means of earning an income and cause you extreme hardship
  • That you are a fit and proper person to hold a licence. The court will take into account your traffic history to determine this.

You can apply to the Court for the removal of the disqualification if you have been disqualified absolutely from holding or obtaining a Driver's licence

  • This can only be done after a period of two years has expired from the time the disqualification was imposed.
  • You must prove to the Court that you are a fit and proper person to hold a licence. The court will take into account your traffic history to determine this.

Unfortunately, if your application is unsuccessful, you must wait 12 months before you can apply again.

Contact us if you would like some advice on the above matters. We can assist you with the necessary documents and appear in court on your behalf.

For a full explanation of the above process, and your eligibility to apply, contact us at Taylors Solicitors today
